Hours:
Always eat a full breakfast or lunch. You may be advised to take a premedication due to your health conditions. Make sure to take it as scheduled. If you are able to take Advil or Aleve, take it before your procedure. This will help limit inflammation.
Endodontic Associates, P.C. recommends you take two tablets 2-4 hours before your procedure. However, if a diagnosis has not been given, do not take any medications unless advised otherwise. We will perform a comprehensive and thorough exam to get a diagnosis and determine if endodontic therapy is best. Call (402) 397-3636
if you have any additional questions.
After your procedure, your tissues around your gums may be sore for a few days. This is normal. There are typically no restrictions in diet, and you can brush, floss, and eat like normal. Discomfort can be relieved by taking Advil 600mg every six hours or Tylenol 500mg every six hours for the next 24-48 hours. Never consume alcohol to alleviate pain, especially when taking medication. If these medications do not work, call our office right away.
Your endodontic treatment is finally done, and the root canal is sealed permanently. The outer surface is temporarily sealed with a temporary restoration. A permanent restoration will need to be placed to prevent decay and fractures. Please call your dentist to make an appointment. We will send a complete report to your dentist along with the procedure that was performed. We offer follow-up exams to check on the progress of healing.
